Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Southampton will head to the King Power Stadium on Saturday as they look to climb out of the relegation zone.
Danny Ings is set to miss out due to a hamstring injury, the striker has scored seven goals since joining from Liverpool in the summer and will be a big miss for the Saints.
Here is how they could line up for Saturday’s game against Leicester.
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Alex McCarthy (GK) – McCarthy has been replaced by Angus Gunn in recent games but has only missed one Premier League fixture this season.
Yan Valery (RB) – The young French defender has become a mainstay in the team since Hassenhüttl’s arrival. He played the full 90 minutes during the 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
Jan Bednarek (CB) – Another player to become a staple of the starting XI under the new management. The Polish defender only featured twice before December.
Jannik Vestergaard (CB) – The former Mӧnchengladbach defender has been given mixed reviews since he signed in the summer, but has formed a decent partnership with Bednarek in recent games.
Matt Targett (LB) – The one of few products of Saints youth system to feature recently. Targett has pushed his way into Hassenhüttl’s new look defence.
Oriol Romeu (CM) – Romeu missed the cup game with Derby and looks set to return to the starting XI this weekend.
Mario Lemina (CM) – Lemina is one of few players to feature throughout most of this league campaign. Stuart Armstrong and Pierre-Emile Hӧjbjerg are likely to miss out which could see the Gabon midfielder return to the squad.
James Ward-Prowse (AM) – Ward-Prowse has played just three full 90 minutes this season but recent performances could see him remain in the starting XI this weekend.
Nathan Redmond (RW) – First player in this line up to feature in all 21 league games this season. Redmond scored both goals against Derby County on Saturday.
Mohamed Elyounoussi (LW) – The summer signing from FC Basel has been impressive so far this season. The Norwegian played the full 90 minute in the draw against Derby at the weekend.
Shane Long (ST) Long looks set to start upfront with Danny Ings out with an injury. The Irishman claimed an assist during the Derby County draw.
